Framus (German Jazz Guitar) Vintage 1970

List $3,000  Net $2,500

Includes Pro Heavy-Duty Hardshell Plywood Case

FYI: A similar model of GIBSON costs starting at $5,000 !

(NOTE: I am only the second owner, acquiring the guitar from a soldier returning from service in Germany in 1980).

It was built in Bavaria, Germany in February, 1970.  It has multi-ply spruce top / maple back & sides / mahogany neck.

(NOTE: Some of the "blemishes" in the finish are reflections from the camera flash; originals available by e-mail request.)

Jumbo body with single cutaway.  Luthier Bill Stultz did a pro set-up, including leveling and crowning the frets.

Unique Framus compensated tailpiece and bridge, built as an acoustically bright rhythm guitar.

Added-on American "Lawrence" jazz pickup with single volume control in pickguard makes this a mellow solo guitar.

"Zero-Fret" and separate nickel nut, flat headstock with string retainer (as in Fender electrics).

It has multi-ply spruce top / maple back & sides / mahogany bolt-on neck; all nickel hardware.

Unique Framus multi-ply neck for tone and durability (after all, it is 47-years old)!

This Framus has both an arched top and an arched back, for great projection in a jazz or blues gig.

Includes late model TKL (USA) pro heavy-duty hardshell plywood plush-lined padded case and GHS flatwound strings.
